bio

Esther Choi (b.1992, Queens, NY) is a Korean-American ceramic artist based in Portland, OR. She is inspired by her experiences living in various cities and her deep appreciation for personalization in everyday life. Her work is driven by an attention to small details—each piece is crafted with the hope of transforming the ordinary into something meaningful, turning objects into intentional moments. Prior to pursuing ceramics, Esther spent nearly a decade working in big tech, where she honed her skills in systems thinking and thoughtful decision-making. Her transition into clay is a desire to slow down, reconnect with her hands, and create work grounded in physical presence and emotional resonance.
